Pirate Football Breaks Through with a Big Win
After starting 0-3, your Seton Hall Prep Pirates came into this game against a talented Union City Soaring Eagles team with a chip on their shoulder. On the opening drive Jackson Dowd made his presence known for SHP as he intercepted Union City’s QB Damon Pallotto near midfield. Dowd had a monstrous game with two takeaways and 16 total tackles. The Prep’s offense drove down the field, generating a 9-yard touchdown from Jaden Craig to PJ Penders to create an early lead. Craig had his best game of the year with four touchdowns!
The Soaring Eagles answered swiftly with a two-yard TD run by Zahir Abdus-Salaam to tie the game at 7. Zahir Abdus-Salaam found the end zone again on a short run to give Union City the lead at 13-7. Nothing was stopping Jaden Craig, however, as he found Nick Dunneman over the middle for a 23-yard score, taking a 14-13 lead. A dull drive for Union City led to a punt which the Pirates blocked, and Kevin Agnew recovered in the end zone for another Pirates touchdown. After a field goal from the Soaring Eagles, the Pirates led at half 21-13.
In the 3rd quarter, Myles Thomason broke through the defense and taking the ball 73 yards to the house. Pirates led 26-16. Seton Hall Prep’s offense kept marching as Jaden Craig found Aiden Mack for an 11-yard score to push the lead to 35-16. The Pirate defense bullied Union City in the second half, recording six sacks in the game. To put the cherry on top of this win, Jaden Craig found Nick Dunneman again for his second touchdown of the game. The Prep led by 26 to start the fourth, and there was no miracle in sight for Union City. Final score 49-22 Pirates.
