Seton Hall Prep had sixteen senior student-athletes participate in the first NCAA Signing Day of the 2024-2025 school year across three sports. Baseball dominated with nine signing their national letters of intent (NIL). Will Mahala (Virginia), Marcelo Harsh (Wake Forest), Kaden Frei (Purdue), Mike Bravette (George Washington), Nick DeSena (Lafayette), and Roman Baldwin (St. Peters) all pledged to play ball at the Division I level, while Liam Garrett (Bates), Mack Lipari (Stevens), and Ryan Dewland (Drew) all signed to the Division III rank. Interestingly, Mack Lipari is the only senior who signed his NIL to not play for the Pirates on the varsity level, as he missed what would have been his letter winning junior season with an injury.
Ben Mills (Marist) was the only soccer player to sign to his future college. Mills, a captain who scored 13 goals and had 14 assists this year on the pitch, was debating between Tufts University and Marist before eventually choosing the Red Foxes up in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Six seniors from the lacrosse team signed on November 12 to play Division I lacrosse, with Joe Delmauro (Utah), Clark Rich (Lehigh), Graham Coakley (Colgate), and Nolan Sabel (Villanova) all honoring commitments they made before even stepping out on the varsity field during the fall of their junior years. Dave Manzo (High Point) and Mike Clifford (Colgate) were the other two lacrosse players to sign their NIL’s. Clark Rich, bound for Lehigh to study business, said, “Really glad to put pen to paper,” commenting on how he’s “really excited for the next four [years].” Nolan Sabel, off to Villanova next fall said he was “super excited to get the process done,” and “the day was filled with lots of emotions.” Graham Coakley, who’s debating whether to study political science or creative writing at Colgate said, “I’m proud of where I’ve gone so far, and am even more excited to see where I’ll go.” Newly appointed lacrosse head coach John Svec called it a “proud day for Seton Hall Prep,” exhibiting a clear passion for his new program.
“I’m excited for the future of these young men,” said Svec. “It’s going to be a great season!”
