SHP Basketball Tunes Up for Postseason

Seton Hall Prep Basketball continues to dominate on the hardwood. After a strong year last year, Coach Williams’ guard-heavy lineup is trying to make a state run their senior year. Guards Gavin Krietz ’22, Nick Dunneman ’22, and Myles Thomason ’22 were instrumental to SHP’s 11-3 start to the year. After a 77-43 loss to Don Bosco, the team has won ten of their last twelve, including winning the Husky Holiday Classic defeating Union in the finals. Going into the Essex County tournament as the 1 seed, expectations are high for the Pirates.

“The goal is to win, no doubt. We played our hearts out as a team through adversity all year, so that adds to our toughness and ability to play throughout challenges that we will face during tournament play,” stated guard Jackson Bleecher ‘23.

Jackson, leading the team in scoring, credits his teammates for his success: “I work hard to help out my teammates, the success I found throughout the year is a byproduct of playing through the offense, my teammates finding me, and having trust in myself to score the ball.”

With six games left in the regular season, Seton Hall Prep basketball is in great shape for their goals in the post-season.
