SHP Football Improves to 2-0
Seton Hall Prep Football keeps their momentum going and improves to 2-0 after a 48-7 victory for the Pirates. The story of the night goes to Myles Thomason ‘22 running for a career-high 240 yards on only 13 carries. Myles’s performance of 240 yards rushing is the most by a Seton Hall Prep player since Kevin Monangai ‘11, who ran for 291 in the 2010 Non-Public, Group 4 playoffs against Paul VI.
Union City scored first on a 1-yard run by Damon Pallatto, but that was the last time they would put points on the scoreboard. Myles Thomason ‘22 and Nick Dunneman ‘22 put on a show in the first half. Myles scored back-to-back rushing touchdowns totaling 118 yards. Next, one of the best WR to QB connections struck like lightening. Jaden Craig ‘22 found Nick Dunneman three times in one quarter! The Prep went into halftime with a 34-7 lead. In the second half, Prep’s defense displayed why they are one of the best in the state, intercepting quarterback Chris Howell twice and allowing only 26 yards of passing. Captain and standout linebacker Jackson Dowd ‘22 had one sack and 10 total tackles. Offensively, The Prep found the end zone twice, Myles Thomason rushed in from Union City’s five, and Jalil Bowen ‘22 burst out for an 81-yard touchdown run.
