SHP Tops St. John Vianney for a Shot at St. Peter’s

After ending the season with back-to-back losses, the Pirates came out hungry against their Saint John Vianney. The Prep running backs total for six touchdowns and the defense posted their first shutout of the season.

Right after the opening kickoff, the Pirates were determined to dominate this game. Myles Thomason ’22 scored on the first drive with a 52-yard run. The Prep defense caused a 3-and-out and the offense took advantage. This time, running back Byron Maddox ’22 scored inside the 2-yard line to put the Pirates up two scores. This theme of offense and defense playing lights out would remain constant throughout the game, especially in the 2nd quarter. The defense allowed zero points in the whole game, while the offense scored 28 points in the second quarter. Nick Dunneman ’22 scored on a screen pass from Jaden Craig ’22, and  Maddux scored for the second time in the half, and Jalil Bowen ’22 rushed for two scores as well. The Pirates dominated Saint John Vianney 49-0.

Seton Hall Prep were set to face Saint Peters in the State Quarterfinals on the following Friday.
